"I don't know a country that would launch demobilization amid war. Actually, I know one – it was the Ukrainian People's Republic. It was then that Minister of Defense Mykola Porsh submitted a bill on demobilization to the Central Rada. That draft law was then voted in. Is there a need to tell what happened next, in 1919? It is important for me that our Verkhovna Rada does not repeat the mistakes of the Central Rada. This was a hard history lesson," said the Speaker.
At the same time, he noted that it is necessary to pay more attention to ensuring the rights of military personnel.
"The other thing we should be talking about is that those on the front line deserve an exclusive right to justice. Therefore, the issue of vacations, rotations, and basic support – these are all things that should be implemented," added Ruslan Stefanchuk.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ministry of Defense said a draft law on demobilization was being drafted, but tabling it in the Rada depends on a number of factors, primarily on the situation at the front and the pace of mobilization.
