There were 89 combat engagements in frontline today, enemy is attacking in seven sectors

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 19:00 on Wednesday, 12 June, Ukrinform reports.

The invaders also continue to use aviation, including guided aerial bombs. 

"The defence forces are holding the line and taking all necessary measures to prevent a breakthrough in our defence," the General Staff said. 

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army tried unsuccessfully to advance five times today. It has been preliminarily established that it has lost more than 90 of its troops there this day.

Also in this area of the frontline, the Defence Forces destroyed eight more pieces of enemy equipment: an armoured combat vehicle, an artillery system, five vehicles and one special vehicle. Another 13 were damaged, including six enemy artillery systems.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian troops became more active in the vicinity of Terny. A total of 12 combat engagements took place in this sector over the day, five of them are still ongoing. "The enemy is suffering losses," the General Staff said.

In the Siverskyi and Kramatorsk sectors, the number of assault operations by the Russian army increased to 13 and 8 respectively. According to preliminary data, the enemy lost 73 people killed and 122 wounded in these areas. The defence forces destroyed four Russian armoured personnel carriers, seven vehicles and one cannon, damaged a tank, three armoured personnel carriers, two vehicles and four artillery systems of the invaders.

Russian proxies have attacked in the Pokrovske sector 31 times since the beginning of the day. 12 hostile attacks are still ongoing. Firefights are taking place in the areas of Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, Sokol, Novopokrovsk and Netaylove.

In the Kurakhove sector, fighting continues in the area of Krasnohorivka. This is the seventh attempt by Russian troops to improve their position there today.

In the Prydniprovsky sector, fighting is taking place in the vicinity of Krynky for the second time today. Ukrainian defence forces are holding their positions.

In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.
