სამცხე-ჯავახეთი / Samtskhe-Javakheti

სამცხე-ჯავახეთი საქართველოს სამხრეთით მდებარეობს, რომელსაც ჩრდილოეთით იმერეთი და ქართლი ესაზღვრება, სამხრეთით _თურქეთი, დასავლეთით კი _ აჭარა-გურია.

გამორჩეული გეოგრაფიული ადგილმდებარეობა საუკუნეების განმავლობაში ხელს უწყობდა რეგიონის ეკონომიკურ და კულტურულ ურთიერთობას მოსაზღვრე სახელმწიფოებთან. სამცხე-ჯავახეთი უდიდესი ისტორიულ-კულტურული მნიშვნელობის მხარეა და მან ბევრი ქრისტიანული თუ წინარექრისტიანული ძეგლი შემოგვინახა.
ეს მხარე ასევე მდიდარია მრავალფეროვანი ბუნების ძეგლებით, წიაღისეულითა და კურორტებით.
მესხეთი მეღვინეობითაა გამორჩეული და მხოლოდ საქართველოში კი არა, მთელ მსოფლიოში მევენახეობის ერთ-ერთი ყველაზე მაღალმთიანი რეგიონია _ აქ ვაზი ზღვის დონიდან 900-1700 მეტრ სიმაღლეზე ხარობს.
ჯავახეთი ძალიან მდიდარია ტბებით, აქ მდებარეობს საქართველოს ფართობით უდიდესი ტბა ფარავანი.
სამცხე-ჯავახეთი უძველესი ისტორიული მხარეა და მას ქართული კულტურის აკვანსაც უწოდებენ. აქ ნახავთ უძველესი ცივილიზაციების მიერ აგებულ ციკლოპურ ციხე-ნამოსახლარებსა და არქიტექტურითა თუ ფრესკული ნიმუშებით გამორჩეულ ქრისტიანულ ძეგლებს.
აქ წარმოდგენიოლია კავკასიის ფრინველების, ცხოველებისა და მცენარეების ენდემური სახეობები, მათ შორის წითელ ნუსხაში შეტანილიც. ეს მხარე საუკეთესოა ფრინველებზე დაკვირვებისთვის.

Samtskhe-Javakheti is located in the south of Georgia. It borders with Imereti and Kartli to the north, Turkey to the south, and Adjara - Guria to the west. Distinctive geographical location contributes to the economic and cultural relations of the region with neighboring states for centuries. Samtskhe-Javakheti is a region of great historical-cultural significance and has kept many Christian or pre-Christian monuments.
It is also rich in diverse natural monuments, fossils and resorts.
Georgia is considered a wine homeland. Meskheti should also be distinguished in terms of winemaking. It is one of the highest viticultural regions not only in Georgia but in the whole world. The vine here is cultivated at 900-1700 meters above sea level.
Javakheti is very rich with lakes, the largest lake Paravani in is situated here.
Samtskhe-Javakheti is an ancient historical region and it is called the cradle of Georgian culture. You can find cyclopean fortresses built by ancient civilizations, Christian monuments with architectural or fresco designs.
There are endemic species of birds, animals and plants of the Caucasus and Georgia in Samtskhe-Javakheti, including the Red List species. This region is a real gold mine for bird-watching.
