Three vessels with Ukrainian grain left Chornomorsk Port this morning

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“This morning the first convoy of vessels with Ukrainian grain has left the Great Odesa ports. Three bulk carriers, Navi Star, Rojen and Polarnet, are carrying 57,000 tonnes of Ukrainian-produced corn intended for Turkey, Great Britain and Ireland. Today’s convoy has resumed navigation from Chornomorsk Port,” the report states.

Kubrakov expressed hope that the security guarantees provided by the United Nations and Turkey will remain in effect, and food exports from Ukrainian ports will be stable and predictable to all market participants.

“In this regard, we are planning to ensure the ability of ports to handle more than 100 vessels per month. Although the ‘grain corridor’ has already started to work on exit, our goal is to ensure the full operation of ports in both directions. We are receiving requests from ship owners, who are ready to enter our ports for loading, and the first vessel is expected to come tomorrow. Our monthly objective is 3 million tonnes of agricultural exports and more from Odesa Port, Chornomorsk Port and Pivdennyi Port. Such steps are necessary not only to Ukraine’s economy but the world. The sooner we can ship 20 million tonnes of crops harvested last year and start exporting the newly-harvested crops, the faster the global food situation will improve,” Kubrakov noted.

A reminder that, on August 1, 2022, the vessel Razoni, flying the flag of Sierra Leone, left Odesa Port to deliver 26,000 tonnes of Ukrainian-produced corn to Lebanon’s Port of Tripoli.
