Germany will fulfill its promise and send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine as soon as possible.
German government spokesperson Wolfgang Buechner said this at a briefing on Monday, February 6, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The federal government proceeds from the fact that the promised Leopard tanks will be delivered quickly," Buechner said.
He added that this would be done regardless of when the other partners do it. Germany will fulfill its promise, but at the same time it hopes that it will be possible to do it together with other countries.
Buechner confirmed that "intense negotiations" are ongoing with other countries that plan to transfer tanks of this type, but did not reveal any details.
