He stated this outside the White House at an event announcing new tariffs on foreign countries, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"I think we're being given good cooperation by Russia and by Ukraine," he said, commenting on peace settlement efforts.
He emphasized the urgent need to end the war, highlighting the heavy casualties on both sides.
"They're losing their soldiers. They are dying, they are being decimated. They are not from our country, but they are from other countries, but they are human beings. They are from Russia, they are from Ukraine," Trump said, reaffirming his intent to stop the war.
Earlier this week, the White House stated that Trump was dissatisfied with how the Russian and Ukrainian leaders have addressed the peace process and felt they were not adequately recognizing U.S. efforts.
