Local residents were the first to report the fire. Later, Ryazan region Governor Pavel Malkov confirmed that debris from the drones had caused a fire at one enterprise, the name of which he did not specify.
"Last night, 14 UAVs were destroyed by air defense forces over the Ryazan region. The falling debris caused a fire on the territory of one enterprise. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties, and material damage is being assessed. Emergency services are working at the scene," the ASTRA Telegram channel quoted Malkov.
Residents reported explosions in the area of the oil refinery and the Dyagilevo Airfield.
The Ryazan oil refinery is owned by Rosneft. It is one of the five largest oil refineries in Russia. The Ukrainian troops have attacked the enterprise several times since March 2024.
