In Ternopil, there are reports of 26 people missing, including three children, in a building destroyed by a Russian missile strike.

According to Ukrinform, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported this on Telegram.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, rescuers and police will work at the site of the strike in Ternopil throughout the night.

“There is a lot of work ahead. The main thing is to find everyone who may be under the rubble. As of this evening, there are reports of 26 missing persons in the destroyed building. Three of them are children. We are searching for them,” Klymenko assured.

The deaths of 26 people from the Russian strike have been confirmed. Nearly a hundred have been injured.

In the building, where two stairwells were completely burned out, there are no apartments left intact.

According to the minister, the flames spread instantly and engulfed the building. People tried to jump out of windows in terror, and rescuers evacuated them using high-altitude equipment. Nineteen people died in the fire.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs discussed the situation with local authorities. All those who were left homeless will be provided with shelter.

“We are searching for every person under the rubble, and we will not stop until we have done everything possible for those who are waiting for their loved ones,” Klymenko assured.
