The U.S. delegation says it made significant progress in peace negotiations during its visit to Moscow and hopes that a trilateral meeting will be announced soon.

U.S. presidential representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner said this to journalists in Kyiv on Sunday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I think we made a lot of progress in Moscow. We heard new ideas. You heard President Zelensky talk about a trilateral that we are hopeful will be announced in short order. There were all kinds of other important, cogent ideas that we discussed in Moscow, brought here to Kyiv. We think that collaboration is critical," Witkoff said.

Kushner said the delegation had discussed numerous ideas with Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, including proposals that had not worked so far. The talks had focused on what Russia, Ukraine and the international community could gain from a potential peace agreement, he said.

Kushner described the discussion with Putin as a productive dialogue in which both sides had asked and answered numerous questions.
