8 people killed, 34 injured in shelling of Mykolayiv and Ochakiv

The Mykolayiv Regional Prosecutor's Office began an investigation into the attack launched by the Russian invaders on the cities of Ochakiv and Mykolayiv, killing 8 people and injuring 34 more.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Mykolayiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the investigative department of the Security Service in the region launched a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the Mykolayiv Regional Prosecutor's Office posted on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

According to the investigation, on April 3, 2022, the Russian armed forces attacked the cities of Ochakiv and Mykolayiv. The shelling damaged the houses of local residents, vehicles, and civilian infrastructure.

As a result of the enemy shelling, seven residents of Ochakiv were killed and 20 others were injured. In the city of Mykolayiv, one person was killed, 14 people were injured, including a minor.

On February 24, Russian president Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops shell and destroy key infrastructure, massively fire on residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles.
