The United States is allocating another $100 million tranche of security and defense assistance for Ukraine, which will provide new supplies of weapons to combat enemy armored vehicles.

This is said in an official statement by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Ukrinform reports.

“The world has been shocked and appalled by the atrocities committed by Russia’s forces in Bucha and across Ukraine.  Ukraine’s forces bravely continue to defend their country and their freedom, and the United States, along with our Allies and partners, stand steadfast in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement says.

In this regard, Blinken said that on behalf of the U.S. President he approved the immediate allocation of security assistance valued at up to $100 million “to meet the urgent needs of Ukraine in additional systems against armored vehicles."

Thus, the total U.S. security assistance commitment to Ukraine rose to $2.4 billion since the beginning of the Biden administration, including more than $1.7 billion since Russia launched a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
