Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a working visit to the Kostiantynivka sector, stressed the need to expand the use of unmanned systems to increase firepower against Russian forces while reducing risks to Ukrainian defenders.

According to Ukrinform, Syrskyi announced this on Facebook.

"I heard reports from the leadership of the 19th Army Corps, commanders of combat brigades, and unit commanders on the operational situation and the status of all types of support. The main focus is on increasing the use of unmanned systems of all types in order to intensify firepower against the enemy and reduce risks to the lives of our personnel," he said.

The Commander-in-Chief also reviewed the current situation in Kostiantynivka and discussed potential new challenges and possible ways to counter them with commanders. According to him, the Kostiantynivka sector remains one of the hottest areas of the front, with Russian forces carrying out an average of up to 20 attacks per day and attempting to infiltrate deeper into the city.

"According to intelligence, up to 145 Russian occupiers have amassed in Kostiantynivka. Defense Forces units continue conducting counter-sabotage operations in the city. To detect and eliminate enemy infantry and firing positions, our troops are carrying out search-and-strike operations and making extensive use of FPV drones and drone-dropped munitions. The invaders are suffering significant losses. On July 18 alone, the enemy lost 21 personnel killed and six wounded in the city. Six shelters were also destroyed," Syrskyi emphasized.

He stressed that the task facing Ukrainian defenders is to protect Kostiantynivka and inflict maximum losses on the occupiers. He also praised the high level of professionalism of the commanders, as well as the courage and resilience of the city's defenders, thanking them for their combat service.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Syrskyi also visited combat units carrying out missions to repel Russia's armed aggression on the Kupiansk sector in Kharkiv region.
