SSU detains three traitors who registered Starlink terminals for Russians

The SSU reported this on its website, Ukrinform informs.

"The Security Service has blocked new attempts by the rashists to gain access to the Starlink satellite system for waging war against Ukraine. As a result of comprehensive measures, three more Russian agents were detained who tried to ‘connect’ the enemy to the internet communication terminals," the statement said.

In particular, in the Kirovohrad region, investigators exposed a mobilized serviceman who had deserted from his military unit and was soon recruited by Russian special services through Telegram.

In exchange for promises of "quick" money, the deserter registered a Starlink terminal in his own name and handed the relevant details over to a handler from the aggressor country.

Later, under false pretenses, he involved ten more acquaintances in covertly registering satellite terminals for the Russian invaders.

In Zhytomyr, a local drug addict was detained after being recruited by the enemy through Telegram channels selling drugs and psychotropic substances.

"Hopeful of getting money for a ‘dose,’ she agreed to register a Starlink in her own name and hand over access codes to the satellite system to the rashists. Later, the suspect brought three more accomplices into cooperation with the enemy to register new internet terminals," the SSU said.

In addition, in the Mykolaiv region, investigators exposed a vocational school student who helped Russia gain access to Starlink terminals in order to correct drone attacks on the southern front.

The investigation found that the young man came to the attention of Russian special service representatives through pro-Kremlin Telegram chats.

It was documented that, for money, the suspect registered satellite terminals in his own name and those of his relatives, and then planned to hand over the details to the Russian special service.

The SSU stressed that access to the illegally registered Starlink terminals was blocked in all exposed cases.

Investigators announced suspicions to the detainees, including treason under martial law. They face from eight years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As Ukrinform reported, the SSU detained a number of other individuals who registered Starlink satellite terminals for Russian armed groups.
