Drapatyi: Serving Ukraine during war for independence means absolute responsibility

He wrote this in a Facebook post, according to Ukrinform.

"I thank the President of Ukraine for his trust, the Defense Minister for his support, and the Defense Forces for this new stage of my service," Drapatyi said.

According to the major general, serving Ukraine has always been an honor for him, and during the war for independence it means bearing absolute responsibility.

He also expressed gratitude to General Oleksandr Syrskyi for his consistent efforts to strengthen Ukraine's armed forces.

"I will work responsibly, with focus and with respect for the people who are defending our state today. Glory to the nation. Death to the enemies," Drapatyi wrote.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi would become the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also said that the structure of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be updated.
