Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that France and the United Kingdom will represent Europe at the negotiation table.

He said this at a press conference following a meeting of European leaders on supporting Ukraine and security in Europe, which took place in Paris on Thursday, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, all of us -- our partners in Europe -- agreed that France and the UK will represent Europe in peace negotiations. Macron and Starmer. I believe this is also important. This is a clear position. And we want to send this signal to all our other partners and, of course, to the United States," Zelensky said.

He stressed that Ukraine's stance on the format of peace negotiations is very clear: "Europe must be at the table when it comes to ending the war."

"We are not considering alternatives. This is our firm position. Europe is very large, and it must have clear representation at the negotiation table," Zelensky said.
