The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine reports an increase in the release of anti-Ukrainian books in Russia.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the watchdog.

"The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting constantly monitors the publishing sector of the aggressor state, the Republic of Belarus, and the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine in order to identify the facts of the release and distribution of anti-Ukrainian publications and take appropriate response measures," the agency noted.

Based on the monitoring, a list of books is being compiled, whose content is aimed at eliminating Ukraine’s independence, promoting violence, inciting interethnic, racial, and religious hatred, committing acts of terrorism, and encroaching on human rights and freedoms.

The State Committee noted that the main purpose of the list is to inform book distribution companies, law enforcement agencies, businesses and citizens that the circulation of publications put in the list may entail criminal liability.

As noted by the Committee, monthly monitoring records an increase in the release of anti-Ukrainian publishing products in the Russian Federation. In June alone, six books with anti-Ukrainian content were added to the specified list, including those spotted by the Security Service of Ukraine.

As of now, the list contains 597 propaganda publications, the State Committee specified.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, references to the Ukrainian origin of writer Nikolai Gogol and Ukraine in general have been removed from new literature textbooks for Russian schools edited by Vera Korovina.
