Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and Lithuanian Parliament Speaker Juozas Olekas discussed the exchange of expertise and technologies in the defense industry, as well as opportunities for developing joint projects.

Shmyhal reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

The minister thanked the Lithuanian people for their steadfast support and assistance.

"Lithuania is one of Ukraine's closest allies, being the first to allocate 0.25% of its GDP for military aid. We are now encouraging our other partners to follow this example," Shmyhal said.

He highlighted the effectiveness of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade, which he said could serve as a foundation for cooperation among allied states and for sharing military experience.

The parties discussed the exchange of expertise and technologies in the defense industry and the development of joint projects.

Shmyhal thanked Lithuania for announcing its support for Ukraine's participation in projects submitted under the SAFE mechanism and for its readiness to implement them together with Ukrainian companies. He also expressed gratitude for Lithuania's involvement in the purchase of U.S. weapons under the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) initiative.

According to the minister, Lithuania and other Baltic states are under significant pressure from the aggressor state, and Ukraine is ready to share its experience to help protect its friends.

The two sides also discussed practical steps to counter enemy UAVs and build a resilient defense system.
