The Cabinet of Ministers continues a series of decisions aimed at rebooting the management of National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom, having decided to suspend several company officials.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Based on materials received from NABU, the government has decided to urgently suspend Vice President and Management Board member Jacob Hartmut," she noted.

In addition, Svyrydenko added that the Cabinet instructed the acting chairman of Energoatom to suspend the president's chief advisor, Dmytro Basov, who has been notified of suspicion, as well as other employees whose involvement in crimes is being investigated by law enforcement.

These include, in particular, the director of finance and budgeting, the director of legal affairs, and the head of the separate division "Centralized procurement organization."

"If, during the NABU investigation, the involvement of other employees in criminal activities is established, the acting chairman of the board must suspend them and assist in the investigation regarding these individuals," the head of government emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported, on November 10, NABU announced a special operation to expose corruption in the energy sector. According to investigators, members of a criminal organization built a large-scale scheme to influence strategic state-owned enterprises, including Energoatom.

The main activity of the criminal organization was systematically receiving unlawful benefits from Energoatom's counterparties. The amount of these illicit payments ranged from 10% to 15% of contract values.
