The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"Ukraine will continue applying military and technological pressure on Russia by every available means. I discussed this with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi. I have full confidence in Major General Drapatyi, whom I had the honor of nominating yesterday for the post of Commander-in-Chief. We agreed to be honest with one another and resolve any differences in the interests of Ukrainian service members. Together, we will carry out the President's instructions and create the conditions for the maximum effectiveness of our Defense Forces," Khmara said.
According to him, brigade and corps commanders outlined the specific challenges currently facing Ukraine's Defense Forces.
"Our first steps are to support the front line, strengthen support from our partners, and shift the war onto the aggressor's territory as much as possible. To achieve this, we will ensure frontline units have stable and flexible access to effective capabilities, including long-range weapons, while advancing new technologies and asymmetric solutions," Khmara said.
He added that Ukraine's objective remains unchanged: securing a technological advantage over Russian forces while preserving the lives of Ukrainian personnel through technological innovation. Khmara said the Armed Forces should expand capabilities that have already proven effective, including deep-strike and medium-range strike operations, unmanned robotic systems, and other solutions that both protect soldiers and more effectively destroy enemy targets.
"We also discussed our vision for the future with the Commander-in-Chief. We share a common position on the development of Ukraine's Defense Forces. President Volodymyr Zelensky has endorsed our vision. We are now working on a strategy and practical steps to end the war on Ukraine's terms and compel Russia to accept a lasting peace," Khmara said.

He also said the structure of the General Staff would be updated and noted that, during a meeting with Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, they discussed future service arrangements and an orderly transfer of responsibilities.
Yevhenii Khmara has officially been serving as Ukraine's acting defense minister since July 20.
