According to Ukrinform, this was stated in a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, detailing the situation as of 8:00 on Wednesday, October 21.
Russian forces launched 86 airstrikes, dropping 302 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian invaders deployed 9,757 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,735 shelling attacks on settlements and Ukrainian troop positions, including 13 strikes using multiple-launch rocket systems.
Artillery shelling targeted Bezsalivka, Korenok, Tovstodubove, Ulanove, Rohizne, Neskuchne, Bachivsk, Khrinivka, Volfyne, Kozache, Sukhodil, Vovkivka, Luzhky, Hirky, Fotovyzh, Znob-Novhorodske, Zarichne, Seredyna-Buda, Baranivka, and Shalyhyne in the Sumy region, as well as Mykhalchyna-Sloboda in the Chernihiv region. The settlement of Pustohorod came under an airstrike.
Ukraine’s missile forces and artillery struck one cluster of Russian personnel and equipment, two UAV command posts and one other important enemy target.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out three airstrikes over the past day, using six guided aerial bombs, and shelled Ukrainian troops positions and settlements 53 times.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled 13 Russian attacks. Russian forces attacked near Ternova, Izbytske, Starytsia, Blahodatne, Symynivka, Vovchanski Khutory, Zakharivka, Okhrimivka, Volokhivske, Vilkhuvatka, and Chuhunivka.

Attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses were repelled in the Lyman sector, where Russian invaders launched three assaults, including toward Zarichne.
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian forces carried out nine attacks near Ozerne, Kryva Luka, Orikhuvatka, and Yurkivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted no assault operations.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 37 Russian attacks were recorded. Russian forces launched offensives near Kostiantynivka and toward Novoselivka, Mykolaipillia, Novopavlivka, Hruzke, Pryiut, Dobropillia, Vilne, Kolodiaz, and Kucheriv Yar.
Russian troops carried out 30 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector. They attempted to advance toward Dobropillia, Hannivka, Dorozhnie, Novyi Donbas, Krasnopodillia, Bilytske, Serhiivka, Myrne, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, and Muravka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces launched one assault toward Myrne.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian defensive positions 20 times, attempting to advance toward Rybne, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, Kosivtseve, Ternuvate, Verkhnia Tersa, Hirke, Zaliznychne, Omelnyk, Novoselivka, and Yehorivka.

No signs of Russian forces forming offensive groupings were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As Ukrinform reported, Russia’s total combat personnel losses since February 24, 2022, had reached approximately 1,570,540 as of October 21, 2026, including 1,820 troops over the past day.
