Authorities have confirmed a drone attack on Moscow. On the night of October 26-27, local residents reported explosions in several towns across the Moscow region.

That is according to the Telegram channel Astra, Ukrinform reports.

After the explosions, smoke was visible near the settlement of Kommunarka, in the Moscow region.

According to the statement, for "unknown reasons," an oil depot caught fire in Serpukhov, Moscow region.

The fire at the Serpukhov oil depot on Novoselki Street has since been extinguished. The Serpukhov city administration said an empty fuel tanker had caught fire.

Moscow's airports, including Domodedovo, were temporarily closed to flights.

Later, Astra quoted Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, who claimed that 28 drones targeting the city had been shot down.
