Ukraine will have around 5-6 million veterans and members of their families after the war ends, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said on Telegram.

She stated this during a meeting with representatives of the Coalition of Veterans' Civil Society Organizations, Ukrinform reports.

"Ukraine is the first country that is building a comprehensive veteran policy during the war, not after it ends. This requires solutions based on the real experience of our defenders and their families," Svyrydenko said.

During the meeting, representatives of the Coalition of Veterans' Civil Society Organizations presented updated concepts for state policy toward veterans and their families.

"Since our previous meeting in August, the government has already incorporated many of your proposals into the draft Veterans Code, which we will soon submit to parliament. I thank the Veteran Hub charity foundation, NGO Pryncyp, NGO Space of Opportunities, and NGO Legal Hundred for their effective cooperation," Svyrydenko said.
