Ukraine's efforts pay off on all fronts – Costa

He stated this on X, according to Ukrinform.

"The EU is behind you, dear Volodymyr Zelensky, today, tomorrow, as long as necessary," Costa emphasized.

In his view, the opening of the first cluster of Ukraine's EU accession negotiations "made history."

The President of the European Council also assured that the first tranche of financial support for Ukraine "is imminent," with a particular focus on drones and defense capabilities.

"You and the Ukrainian people are doing extraordinary efforts. On the battlefield. And on reforms. It is paying off, across the board," Costa stressed, adding that "the tide is turning for Ukraine."

As previously reported by Ukrinform, during the G7 summit Volodymyr Zelensky met with European Council President António Costa and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The discussions focused on opening additional negotiation clusters in Ukraine's accession process to the European Union.
