Over 40 combat engagements recorded in three areas of front in past day – General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update, Ukrinform reports.

"In the past 24 hours, the aircraft of the Defense Forces launched 11 strikes on enemy manpower clusters, five strikes targeting an anti-aircraft missile systems and one strike targeting a command post of the enemy. Our defenders destroyed a Russian Su-25 aircraft and 3 reconnaissance UAVs of operational-tactical level," the report says.

Units of the Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery hit an ammunition depot, 11 artillery units in firing positions, three anti-aircraft defense systems, 2 electronic warfare stations and another important target of the enemy.

The Russian occupiers used Iranian-made attack UAVs of the Shahed type to attack Ukraine in the past 24 hours.

“Our air defense forces destroyed six kamikaze drones. In addition, the enemy launched 2 missile attacks and 50 air strikes, as well as 52 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, in addition to the destroyed infrastructure, civilians were affected,” the report says.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Rozdolivka. Enemy air strikes on the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Zvanivka and Vyimka, Donetsk region, were recorded. More than 10 settlements, in particular, Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, and Bila Hora. The Russian forces launched an air strike on the area near New York, Donetsk region. About 15 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Ozarianivka, and Pivdenne, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the area of Marinka. At the same time, the enemy launched an air strike on the area close to this settlement. About 10 settlements, including Marinka and Pobieda in Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery shelling.

According to the General Staff, the probability of Russia’s missile attacks and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

As earlier reported, from February 24, 2022 to June 28, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 227,100 Russian invaders.
