Reports alleging that "Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Kyrylo Ihnatenko" accused Elon Musk and SpaceX of causing the "failure of the Kursk operation" are a fabrication by Russian propaganda.

The Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council exposed this disinformation via Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Enemy outlets are spreading a fake video styled as a report from Radio Free Europe, in which a so-called Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kyrylo Ihnatenko, claims that Starlink malfunctions led to the failure of an operation in Russia's Kursk region. In reality, no such video exists on the news outlet's official platforms. Moreover, there is no individual named Kyrylo Ihnatenko among the deputy commanders-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the statement reads.

The disinformation watchdog said the goal of this fake news is to undermine trust between Ukraine and its international partners and create tensions between Ukraine and the U.S.
