Macron, Scholz, Draghi shouldn’t put pressure on Zelensky, calling for concessions to Russia

Poland’s Undersecretary of State for Security, the Americas, Asia, and Eastern Policy Marcin Przydacz said this on the air of Radio Poland Monday, June 13, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, the Polish official noted that the ministry is aware of Macron, Scholz, and Draghi’s intentions to pay such a visit. According to him, Polish President Andrzej Duda has long called on the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany to visit Kyiv and see Bucha and Borodianka with their own eyes.

"Perhaps this would change their approach. Therefore, we will see the result once the visit is over," Przydacz said.

He reminded that at first, the views of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the chief of European Diplomacy Josep Borrel were also "ambiguous." However, after visiting Ukraine, both saw "what war is."

The Polish diplomat noted that he "has no illusions" that the three leaders will completely change their perspective after visiting Ukraine.

“Their attitude (to the situation in Ukraine - ed.) Is clearly different today (than in Poland - ed.). We need to work on this so that they do not really put pressure on Volodymyr Zelenskyy conserning any concessions,” said the Poland’s Undersecretary of State.

He stressed that he did not understand why Ukraine "should forgive Russia for anything."

"Perhaps some Western countries would like to use their own money to allow Putin to save face," said the deputy head of Polish diplomacy.

According to the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Draghi, Macron, and Scholz will visit Ukraine on June 16.

As reported, Polish leaders, including President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, say Warsaw will never agree to an international agreement with Russia resulting in Ukraine ceding its territories and neither will they agree to any accords with Putin behind the Ukrainian government’s back.

Russia has been waging large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine since February 24.
