A mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has left Zaporizhzhia for the nuclear power plant despite of reports of intense shelling around the Russian-occupied town of Enerhodar.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said the mission was aware of “increased military activity in the area” but was pressing ahead with its plan to visit the ZNPP and meet with its staff.

 

“Having come so far, we are not stopping," Grossi said.

As Ukrinform reported, on August 31, the IAEA mission arrived in Zaporizhzhia to visit the nuclear power plant in the temporarily occupied town of Enerhodar.

On the morning of September 1, Russian forces shelled Enerhodar using helicopters, guns and multiple launch rocket systems.
