President Biden personally welcomed President Zelensky at the entrance to the White House, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Washington.
According to the White House, in the course of the meeting, the two leaders will have an opportunity to engage in an “in-depth strategic discussion on the way ahead on the battlefield”.
Additionally, the parties are planning to consider the training and capabilities Western partners are providing Ukraine.
Zelensky and Biden will also touch on the sanctions imposed on Russia and export control, intended to inflict economic losses and weaken Russia’s military and industrial potential.
In addition, the two leaders will discuss military aid to Ukraine from the United States and more than 50 other countries.
Separately, the parties will consider assistance to Ukraine in the economic and energy sectors, as well as humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people.
Following the meeting, Zelensky and Biden are expected to hold a joint press conference.
A reminder that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is paying a working visit to the United States. It is his first trip abroad since the Russian full-scale invasion started.
