Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal spoke with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius to review the outcomes of the latest Ramstein-format meeting.

The Ukrainian minister said this in a post on his Facebook page, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Germany remains a key partner of Ukraine in strengthening its defense capabilities,” Shmyhal wrote.

He expressed gratitude for Germany’s continued support, highlighting its role as a key partner in bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities through international coalitions and aid packages. The parties also began preparations for upcoming Contact Group meetings.

“I outlined the urgent needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces through the end of the year. I briefed the minister on recent Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian cities, civilian casualties, including those killed last light,” Shmyhal added.

He underscored Ukraine’s urgent need to bolster its air defense capabilities and expressed gratitude for international support, particularly the provision of Patriot systems.

“This is an extremely important step that saves lives. We will continue to work closely together to strengthen our common security,” he concluded.

As earlier reported by Ukrinform, on July 21, the 29th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, held in the Ramstein format, brought together representatives from over 50 nations to coordinate efforts aimed at reinforcing the defense capabilities of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
