Russian army loses another 840 troops in war against Ukraine

As of September 4, 2025, Russia’s total combat losses in the war against Ukraine, since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022, have reached 1,085,410 personnel, including 840 troops killed or wounded in the past 24 hours.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

In addition to personnel losses, Russia’s military has suffered significant equipment losses. These include 11,157 tanks, 23,241 (+4) armored fighting vehicles, 32,385 (+43) artillery systems, 1,479 (+2) multiple launch rocket systems, 1,215 (+2) air defense systems, 422 aircraft, 341 helicopters, 56,045 (+261) operational-tactical UAVs, 3,686 (+22) cruise missiles, 28 ships and boats, one submarine, 60,692 (+92) military vehicles and fuel tankers, and 3,956 units of special equipment. These figures are subject to further verification.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on September 3, by 22:00, there were 147 combat engagements on the front lines, with the most intense fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors.
