French FM on Russia's actions in Mariupol: This is a 'second Aleppo'

The terrible bombardment of Mariupol shocked the whole civilized world as Russian invaders are reducing the city to ashes and are heartlessly attacking civilians.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said at the Doha Forum, a policy conference in Qatar, that Russia's "siege warfare" against Ukrainian cities should induce "collective guilt," Ukrinform reports, citing The Times of Israel.

"Mariupol is a second Aleppo. [...] Civilian populations are slaughtered, annihilated, the suffering is horrible. […] I think we're at a tipping point where beyond the Ukrainian crisis, the parameters of stability and security in Europe are challenged," he said.

In the near future, French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to hold another conversation with Putin and try to agree with him on the evacuation of the civilian population from Mariupol.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of an all-out invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
