Ukrainian defenders forced enemy to retreat from Vuhlehirska TPP

This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, July 16, published on Facebook.

In the Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy is regrouping units with the aim of further advancing in the direction of the settlements of Barvinkove and Sloviansk.

The enemy used barrel and rocket artillery, tanks and mortars to open fire near such settlement as Kharkiv, Protopopivka, Prudianka, Dementiivka, Svitlychne, Mykilske, Cherkaski Tyshky, Staryi Saltiv, Rubizhne, Korobochkyne, Dolyna, Ivanivka, Barvinkove, Bohorodychne, Velyka Komyshuvaha, Novomykolaivka and Kostiantynivka. Russian troops used aviation to strike the areas near Mospanove and Bohorodychne.

In the Sloviansk and Bakhmut directions, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on establishing control over the cities of Siversk and Bakhmut. Enemy shelling of civilian and military infrastructure was recorded near such settlements as Siversk, Verkhniokamianske, Oleksandrivka, Nykyforivka, Donetske, Spirne, Travneve, Pokrovske, Soledar, New York, and others. The enemy used aviation to strike the areas near New York, Berestove and Soledar.

In the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia directions, the invaders fired at the positions of Ukrainian troops with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery near the settlements of Novobakhmutivka, Novomykhailivka, Volodymyrivka, Kamianske, Vuhledar, Nevelske, Vremivka, Bilohiria, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Olhivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Tonenke, Prechystivka, Novopil, Novosilka and others. An airstrike was recorded near Avdiivka.

In the Southern Buh direction, shelling from barrel and rocket artillery continues along the contact line. Enemy airstrikes were recorded in the Potiomkyne area. The threat of missile strikes on the region's critical infrastructure remains.
