War update: 51 combat clashes on front lines on Sunday, enemy more active on Pokrovsk and Siversk axes

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 13:00 on Sunday, June 16, Ukrinform reports.

From the direction of Kozino (Russia), the Russians launched an artillery attack on Katerynivka in the Chernihiv region, from Yelizavetovka (Russia) on Stepne in the Sumy region, and from Gorozhanka (Russia) on the village of Seredyna-Buda.

The Russian army hit Lyptsi in the Kharkiv region with guided aerial bombs launched from Belgorod.

Today, the enemy launched two attacks near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv sector. One attack was successfully repelled, and another battle is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, a battle is ongoing near Berestove.

The Russian army carried out two unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka and Nevske in the Lyman sector.

Russian forces continued to step up their activity near Verkhniokamianske and Rozdolivka in the Siversk sector. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian fighters have already repelled five enemy attacks, with four more clashes still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault operations west of Ivanivske.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have attacked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers near Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Sokil, and Umanske 19 times. Ukrainian fighters have repelled 17 attacks, and two more are ongoing.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Russians are storming Ukrainian units near Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, and Vodiane. Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks in this area, and three more clashes are ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian combat aircraft launched two strikes with 54 unguided air missiles in the area of Staromaiorske.

In the Dnipro River sector, in the area of the bridgehead on the east bank of the Dnipro, the aggressor made three unsuccessful attempts to attack Ukrainian positions near Krynky.
