Lithuania believes that Ukraine will be able to join the European Union by 2030 and is sharing its knowledge and experience to support this process.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

According to Budrys, the year 2030 should be considered the ultimate deadline for Ukraine's accession to the EU. He emphasized the importance of setting this final date and working backward from it to establish deadlines for all other critical decisions that need to be made.

The minister also said that Lithuania is investing its best expertise and experience from its own EU accession process into the Ukraine2EU project.

Budrys stated that Lithuania strongly believes Ukraine can achieve its goal by 2030. He added that this belief is what drives Lithuania's commitment to the initiative, as Ukraine's dedication and motivation serve as an inspiration.

Budrys visited Kyiv on April 1.

On the same day, the European Union launched the Ukraine2EU program, aimed at preparing Ukraine for accession and EU membership. Under this initiative, Ukraine will receive EUR 16.7 million for European integration efforts, funded by the EU, Denmark, Lithuania, and Sweden.
