Trump says he expects 'very good proposals' soon on ending war in Ukraine

He made this statement on Monday during a meeting with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele at the White House, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"You have millions of people dead because of three people. Let's say, Putin is number one, Biden, who had no idea what the hell he was doing, is number two. And Zelensky," Trump said.

"I want to stop the killing. And I think we're doing well in that regard. I think you'll have some very good proposals very soon," Trump said.

When asked what he meant by calling the Russian strike on Sumy "a mistake," Trump said: "The mistake was letting the war happen."

He once again accused Biden of incompetence, stressing that the U.S. should have lowered oil prices instead of keeping them high. Trump also referred to Zelensky, saying he had a "rough session" with him in the Oval Office.

When asked whether he had discussed with Zelensky the possibility of Ukraine acquiring Patriot missile defense systems, Trump said that the Ukrainian leader "is always looking to purchase missiles." At the same time, he again implied that it was President Zelensky who started the war.

"Listen, when you start a war, you got to know that you can win the war, right? You don't start a war against somebody that 20 times your size and then hope that people will give you some missiles," Trump said.

In this context, he recalled that he once sold Javelin anti-tank systems to Ukraine, which, according to him, enabled the Ukrainian Armed Forces and "that's how they won their first big battle with the tanks that got stuck in the mud." Trump also recalled that President Barack Obama had sent Ukraine sheets instead of weapons.
