Russia infiltrating saboteurs into Sumy region, mainly in two communities – SBGS spox

Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service (SBGS) reported this during a TV broadcast, Ukrinform saw.

“The border with Russia in Sumy region stretches about 550 kilometers. Despite this, the enemy continues to use its tactic of sending in small assault groups mainly within Khotin and Yunakivka communities,” Demchenko said.

“However, their activity has recently declined. This is the result of the daily, meticulous work and bravery of Ukrainian defenders, who are eliminating the enemy by the dozens — both killed and wounded,” he added.

Demchenko noted a reduction in the use of quad bikes and other motorized vehicles, and no armored equipment has been observed along the border recently.

He also stressed that aside from these areas in Sumy region, attention should be also focused on Kharkiv region, where Russian forces continue assault operations.

“We must not forget about the Kharkiv direction, particularly near Lyptsi, Vovchansk, and also Stroivka, where the enemy is still attempting to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory. However, they are unable to achieve their objectives due to the actions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces,” Demchenko said.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces launched nearly 60 strikes at settlements and communities in Sumy region over the past 24 hours.
