On August 16, 2022, a total of 27 detached houses were damaged in Russia’s shelling of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Region.

The relevant statement was made by the National Police of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Region on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Over the past day, Russian troops have used cannon and rocket artillery to open fire on the city of Nikopol and the Chervonohryhorivka community three times. Casualties among civilians were reported.

A total of 27 detached houses, household buildings and enterprise facilities were damaged. Power transmission lines were hit.

Last night Nikopol District again came under enemy fire twice. Russian troops shelled the city of Nikopol with cannon artillery. Detached houses, cars and a gas pipeline were damaged. In addition, the enemy used rocket artillery to strike the Chervonohryhorivka community, having damaged the road surface and power transmission lines. The details are yet to be checked.

Explosive experts and law enforcement officers are working at the scene and documenting the effects of the enemy shelling.

Law enforcement officers opened a criminal proceeding in accordance with Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).
