In August 2022, Ukraine’s international reserves increased by 13.6%, to USD 25.436 billion as of September 1.

"As of September 1, 2022, Ukraine's international reserves amounted to USD 25,436.0 million according to preliminary data. In August, they increased by 13.6% due to the receipt of a significant amount of international aid amid the country's moderate debt payments in foreign currency and less NBU's interventions in foreign currency sale," the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

The National Bank explains that the increase in reserves was due to the receipt of assistance from foreign partners and the operation of public debt management, the operation of the NBU on the interbank foreign exchange market, and the revaluation of financial instruments.

As Ukrinform reported, according to preliminary data, as of August 1, 2022, Ukraine's international reserves amounted to $22.385 billion.
