U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and UK Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace have discussed ongoing efforts to support Ukraine, including through the provision of security assistance.
This is said in a statement published on the website of the U.S. Department of State following the call, Ukrinform reports.
“They discussed ongoing efforts to support Ukraine, including through the provision of security assistance,” the document says.
It is stressed that the U.S. Secretary of Defense “commended the UK's continued assistance to Ukraine”
The U.S. Department of State also noted that the leaders look forward to meeting in Europe in the coming weeks and continuing to deepen the U.S.-UK special relationship.
As reported by Ukrinform, the UK Government is considering supplying Ukraine with Challenger 2 main battle tanks, according to Sky News.
