Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law on the temporary deferral from mobilization for employees of defense industry enterprises who have problems with their military registration.

According to Ukrinform, the law introducing amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the organization of labor relations under martial law was published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The document aims to expand the special provisions governing the conclusion and termination of employment contracts under martial law, in particular, the termination of contracts at the employer's initiative with employees liable for military service who work at enterprises deemed critically important. It also seeks to ensure proper organization and procedures for reserving such employees from mobilization.

The law provides for the temporary reservation of defense industry workers even if they have issues with their military registration, for example, if they are not registered, have not updated their personal data, or have improperly issued documents.

Such employees may be temporarily deferred from mobilization for up to 45 days to bring their documents into compliance. This temporary deferral can be granted only once per year.

In addition, the probation period for such employees may not exceed 45 days.

If an employee fails to resolve their registration issues within this period, the employer will have the right to dismiss them.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on October 9, with 272 MPs voting in favor.
