“The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to operate according to the principle of active defense. Under difficult conditions posed by a numerically superior enemy, our units repel attacks on most axes and continue search-and-strike actions in designated areas, including near Kupiansk and Siversk,” Syrskyi said.
He noted that the enemy is currently most active in the Pokrovsk sector, which today accounted for about 40% of all engagements. The enemy continues to suffer significant losses there.
The Russians have also increased activity in Zaporizhzhia region, using the weather — heavy fog — to infiltrate between Ukrainian positions.
“The situation has significantly worsened in the Oleksandrohrad and Huliaipole sectors, where the enemy, taking advantage of their numerical superiority in manpower and equipment, advanced during fierce fighting and seized three settlements. The warriors of the ‘South’ Operational Group are engaged in exhausting battles for Rivnopillia and Yablukove. Appropriate support measures are being taken. Combined fire has inflicted heavy losses on the aggressor. Every meter of our land is costing Russia hundreds of soldiers’ lives,” Syrskyi stressed.
Over just the past three days in the operational zone of the ‘South’ Group alone, the invaders have lost around 800 personnel and more than a hundred units of various military equipment.
“Overall, we continue increasing the effectiveness of using domestically produced long-range strike assets — Neptune missiles, Flamingo missiles, as well as kamikaze drones. These are causing the enemy considerable trouble,” Syrskyi added.
