Volunteers from Romania have provided humanitarian aid to displaced children in the Chernivtsi region.

The Chernivtsi regional military administration said this in a statement posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Romanian volunteers transferred humanitarian aid to displaced children currently living in Bukovyna. The aid was provided to 140 children who were evacuated to the region from three centers of social and psychological rehabilitation in the Mykolaiv region. They are between 3 and 17 years old," the statement said.

These are children who found themselves in difficult life situations. They are safe now and have basic necessities of life.

The assistance provided includes toys, clothes and school supplies.

About 62,000 IDPs have moved to the Chernivtsi region since Russia launched an all-out invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Almost 20,000 of them are children.
