Special Product; Business Risks Insurance
• Program is designed for women owned/managed small and medium enterprises
• Insurance advisors will be assigned to women, participating in the program
• The package includes Business Interruption Insurance and is added free of charge
GPI Holding continutes SME Support program with the new project - dedicated to women enterpreneurs. Companies, which are owned or managed by women are eligible to apply.
GPI Holding launched the program as part of implementation of Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs)- a joint initiative of UN Women and UN Global compact. GPI joined the program in 2018.
The program consists of the following:
 Insurance advisers assigned individually
 25% discount on Business Risks insurance
 Business Interruption insurance free of charge
 Webinars about business risks and insurance
Insurance advisers will be trained in specific industries so that they fully adopt to the needs of women managing businesses in various fields, would that be hotels, restaurants, retail, manufacturing or consulting. Mentors will help the program participants through the whole process - identifying the need for insurance, tailoring the package and if needed, assisting in the claims process.
Within the framework of the program, GPIH's partner consulting company "Prospect" will conduct special online training for women entrepreneurs in sales. Also, GPIH's partner agency "COS- Concept Of Safety" will learn women entrepreneurs how to protect safety norms to prevent the spread covid-19 and will prepare them for inspection by the Department of Safety and Labor Inspection.
According to Tinatin Stambolishvili, Director of Communications of GPI Holding: "We are very happy to launch this product as part of our initiative of WEPs. According to our recent survey, which we conducted among our clients and other women entrepreneurs, we have discovered that women are more sensitive to risks and more watchful. With this project we want to raise awareness among women entrepreneurs how to use and benefit from insurance as a main tool in managing a risk. As with insurance doing business is easier and safer and it gives more opportunity to focus on growth. In our opinion, supporting women participation in economic development and strengthening them, is very important for our country and its economy.
Our program for women entrepreneurs implies several components - an education component, which we think is of utmost importance, as lack of awareness is one of the main barriers that businesses stay uninsured and hence unprotected during a loss. The other component is of course - a product itself, which was especially adopted for women entrepreneurs, with more emphasis on full protection, including business interruption coverage. We understand that the main challenge now is covid-19, so together with partner companies we offer much-needed training to women entrepreneurs to help them overcome obstacles and better manage their business."
"As UN Women we are delighted to see that increasing number of companies in Georgia are not only signing up to WEPs, but also taking action to deliver on WEPs core principles. What is more important, they are developing products, which respond to women's demand. Such products are here to inspire other companies to adopt gender sensitive approaches", highlighted Erika Kvapilova, UN Women Country Representative to Georgia.
Women owners or managers can apply to the program through the hotline 032 2505111, or register at:
