Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said this in a speech at the Global Peace Summit, according to an Ukrinform correspondent
"Spain will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary because one thing is clear in this conflict: there is an aggressor, which is Putin, and there is a victim, which is the Ukrainian people. In every conflict, we must defend the victim and stop the aggression," Sanchez said.
Read also: Putin not interested in true peace - SunakHe emphasized that the summit participants "must send a very clear message that we are gathered around core values, like respect for each and every country’s sovereignty”. The President emphasized the need to adhere to and respect international law and international humanitarian law.
“This must also be the basis of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the prime minister said.
He stressed that any solution that validates aggression or a violent annexation will not last and will only lead to a more unstable and dangerous world.
“We hope that this meeting will help build that consensus from which a future solution can be discussed with all relevant actors, including Russia. It is time that we build a just and lasting peace that Ukraine and the world deserves
As Ukrinform reported, the Global Peace Summit started in Switzerland on Saturday. Its main topics include nuclear and food security, as well as humanitarian dimension, including the exchange of prisoners and the return of deported Ukrainian children.
