New sanctions packages are needed until Russia wants to end the war.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are talking separately with the European Union... about new sanctions packages. Until Russia wants to end this war, new packages are needed, and lifting them is the next stage,” Zelensky said.

According to the President, the agenda of the meeting with the American side in Saudi Arabia did not include the issue of sanctions.

“In principle, there was one meeting in one country, and we saw three declarations. That is, it is not so easy to understand, but in our bilateral agreement there was the issue of the sky, the sea, children and prisoners, military and civilians. These are the issues we are discussing,” the Head of State added.

Zelensky noted that they also discussed “stopping any strikes on civilian infrastructure, and it seems that our American partners supported us, but then they did not receive support from the Russian side. Therefore, the issue of sanctions in Saudi Arabia was not raised for us.

As reported by Ukrinform, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 2 billion euros.
