After more than 98% of the polling station protocols were processed, Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Nicușor Dan on winning the presidential election in Romania.

The head of state posted this on the social media platform X, as reported by Ukrinform.

"I congratulate Nicușor Dan on his historic victory in Romania’s presidential elections. For Ukraine — as a neighbor and friend — it is important to have as a reliable partner. And we are confident we will. By working together, we can strengthen both our countries and our Europe," Volodymyr Zelensky stated.

As the President wrote, Ukrainians will always have great respect for Romania and its people, especially in light of the support they received during the most difficult period in Ukraine’s history.

"Dear Romanians, you can count on Ukraine as a good neighbor and partner. We can overcome any challenge if we are united and strong. I look forward to further developing the strategic partnership between our friendly nations for the sake of their stability, security, and prosperity," Zelensky added.
