Zelensky on security guarantees for Russia: I don't know who is threatening them

The head of state made this statement during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

"When Russia raises the issue of security guarantees, I honestly don't know who is threatening them yet. They attacked us (...), and I don't quite understand what guarantees the aggressor needs. Guarantees of what? So for me, this is still unclear. I think that our partners in Europe want to prevent the war from repeating itself, and the only trigger for this is Russia," Zelensky said. 

He also stressed that Ukraine needs security guarantees so that “we, our children, and our grandchildren know for sure that Russia will not attack us.”

“These are security guarantees against the aggressor,” the president stressed, adding that the aggressor is Russia. 

As reported earlier, during a conversation with journalists, Volodymyr Zelensky said that an understanding of the architecture of security guarantees for Ukraine would be presented within 7-10 days.
