172 clashes on frontline in 24 hours, Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka sectors are most intense

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted a summary as of 8:00 a.m. on September 2.

The Russians carried out 64 air strikes, dropping 120 guided bombs. In addition, the enemy carried out 4,918 shellings, including 77 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 5,462 loitering munitions.

The Russian army carried out air strikes on the areas of Khliborob in the Sumy region, Bilohiria and Novoselivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck the area where Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, as well as three Russian artillery systems. 

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 Russian attacks. The enemy carried out 8 air strikes, dropping 20 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 204 shellings, including three with MLRS.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian troops stopped seven Russian attacks in the areas of Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and toward Nova Kruhlyakivka and Novoplatonivka.

There were 14 enemy attacks in the Kupiansk sector. Defense Forces repelled assault operations by the Russian army in Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, and Stepova Novoselivka. 

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 20 times, trying to break through the defense lines in the areas of Kolodiazi and Zarichne and toward Karpivka, Shandryholove, Yampil, Dronivka, and Serebrianka.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian soldiers successfully stopped 11 Russian attacks near Hryhorivka and toward Serebrianka and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders attacked seven times in the Chasiv Yar area and toward Minkivka, Mykolaivka, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out eight attacks in the Shcherbynivka area and toward Pleshchiivka, Nelypivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 46 assaults by the Russian army in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Zapovidne, Novokonomichne, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Dachne, and toward Balahan, Promin, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, and Pokrovsk.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy carried out 24 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Tolstoi, Piddubne, Myrne, Perebudova, Maliivka, Shevchenko, and toward the settlements of Filiia, Ivanivka, Iskra, Oleksandrograd, Novoselivka, and Komyshuvakha.

No combat clashes were recorded in the Huliaipole sector.

Russian units attacked once in the Orikhiv sector, attempting to advance toward Plavni.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled three enemy attacks.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, there were no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops from February 24, 2022, to September 2, 2025, in the war against Ukraine amount to 1,083,790 servicemen, including 800 yesterday.
