War update: 173 clashes on frontline, heavy fighting in Pokrovsk sector

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on September 15, 2025, on Facebook.

“As of now, a total of 173 combat clashes have occurred. Today, Russia launched one missile and 42 air strikes, used two missiles, and dropped 64 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the invaders deployed 1,846 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,450 shellings of our troops’ positions and civilian settlements,” the report states.

According to the General Staff, six clashes took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. The enemy carried out four airstrikes, dropped 12 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 132 artillery shellings, including six using multiple rocket launchers.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy attacked 15 times near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Ambarne, Odradne, and Krasne Pershe. Six clashes are still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, the aggressor attempted to advance nine times in the areas of Kindrashivka, Zahryzove, Kupiansk, and Petropavlivka. Four enemy attacks are still in progress.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders were repelling 16 Russian attacks, six of which are ongoing. The enemy attempted to advance toward Serednie, Stavky, and near Hrekivka, Derylove, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, and Torske.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 10 enemy attacks. Russian units tried to advance near Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, and toward Yampil and Dronivka. Four clashes are ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, four clashes occurred near Orikhovo-Vasylivka and toward Stupochky and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 enemy attacks near Shcherbynivka, Katerynivka, and toward Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka. Two clashes are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the aggressor attacked Ukrainian positions 41 times near Volodymyrivka, Zapovidne, Novoekonomichne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Dachne, and toward Vilne, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Promin, Zvirove, Molodetske, Novopidhorodnie, Novopavlivka, Ternove, Novoivanivka, and Filiia. Ukrainian defenders repelled 38 attacks, while three clashes are ongoing.

Preliminary estimates indicate that the enemy lost 156 troops killed and wounded in the Pokrovsk sector today. Ukrainian forces destroyed 11 vehicles, two motorcycles, 15 drones, and a UAV control point; they also damaged two vehicles, one artillery piece, and five enemy personnel shelters.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 32 enemy attacks near Yalta, Shevchenko, Komyshuvakha, Vorone, and toward Filiia, Ivanivka, Iskra, Sichneve, Olhivske, and Poltavka. Four clashes are still ongoing.

No combat clashes were recorded in the Huliaipole sector.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attacked twice, near Kamianske and toward Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks.

As Ukrinform previously reported, since the full-scale invasion began, Russian forces have used chemical weapons 11,000 times, injuring 3,000 Ukrainian service members.
