Princess Anne makes unannounced visit to Ukraine

According to the report, Princess Anne visited Kyiv on Tuesday to “in a show of solidarity with children and families facing the horrors of the Russian invasion.” The purpose of her trip was “to highlight the traumatic experiences of children living on the frontline.”

During her meeting with President Zelensky, the sister of King Charles III discussed the United Kingdom’s support for Ukraine.

While in Kyiv, the British royal met with female police officers and members of the Armed Forces, and visited the Child Rights Protection Center, which has successfully reunited children with their families. More than 19,500 Ukrainian children have been forcibly transferred or deported by Russian authorities to Russia and to temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Additionally, Princess Anne visited a rehabilitation center, where she met with Ukrainian veterans who had returned from the front lines.

As previously reported, Princess Anne is the third member of the royal family to visit Ukraine. Last April, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, traveled to Kyiv. Just last month, Prince Harry visited the city at the invitation of the Ukrainian government. He toured the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War and met with Ukrainian veterans.
